The Essential Eleven -- March 2010

There are lots of stations that call themselves "alternative" or "adult alternative", but which stations really are worthy of that name, and which are the pretenders to the throne? This is a short list of the current new songs that push the envelope, that make alternative, alternative. This is not a list of my favorites, but a list of the current songs that epitomise "alternative"

Check out your station's current playlist (it should be available on their website or on Yes.com) Check it against this list. See how your station stacks up using this handy scale

If 9-11 of these songs are on your station's playlist, cancel your Sirius subscription. You're wasting your money when you got this station for free.
